Promoting Cycling in Canada Bay

BayBUG was formed to promote the use of bicycles for transport and recreation, as a means to improve quality of life and protect our environment.

Riding

We organise rides from Concord and Concord West:
Regular rides: Weekend and evening rides catering for various levels, with a duration of 1-3 hours
Longer rides: Currently 1 ride per month
Saturday morning ride Sunday morning ride Longer monthly rides

Activities

Our Activities include working with local councils, the RTA and other bodies that provide for cyclists in and around Canada Bay, to improve and create safe cycling routes.

Membership is open to anyone who is interested in furthering the group's objectives.

Sydney to the Gong 2008

Kevin Ellenor, standing far top left, arranged a number of training rides in the months leading up to Gong ride. BayBUG sent their largest contingent yet, with over twenty riders including five women and two juniors.

Gong Group November 2008

Skill level ranged from easy going mountain bike riders, all the way through to serious racers. Nobody was left behind as everyone was able to find someone to ride with who was at similar skill level.

Our advocacy work is concentrated in the City of Canada Bay council area which spans the suburbs of: Rhodes, Liberty Grove, Concord West, North Strathfield, Concord, Mortlake, Breakfast Point, Cabarita, Canada Bay, Five Dock, Rodd Point, Wareemba, Russell Lea, Abbotsford, Chiswick, Drummoyne.
