Canada Bay Bike Plan

The Canada bay bike plan has been under development by Canada Bay council from early 2004 and is in the draft stage at present. The plan has features that support our main goals:

  1. High quality recreational paths: Good recreational paths create the conditions that encourage people to take up or resume cycling in our urban environment which is becoming increasingly hostile to non motorised road users.
  2. Connections between trip generators: Schools, parks, sports, shops, transport interchanges, workplaces. Tips the decision in favour of leaving  the car at home and riding to nearby destinations.
  3. Connections across council boundaries: Connections with Putney, Meadowbank, Olympic park, Strathfield, Burwood, Croydon, Ashfield, Haberfield, Leichhardt, Balmain are identified on the plan. Integration with RTA's regional routes are included on the plan.
